Stop! Eco time was an initiative of several young people who came up with the idea of the youth exchange and defined the main topic on previous projects. We aimed to educate and learn about several pressing issues that define our day to day lives. Our main goal by implementing this project was to bring attention to topics like environmental protection, renewable energy, waste management and reduction, and more importantly the question of climate change, climate crisis. We wanted to share and exchange best practices, initiatives, good examples on a local and international level, to motivate our participants in being more environmentally conscious, more aware of our daily choices when it comes to a greener lifestyle. We aimed to talk about individual and shared responsibilities as well, among which we hoped to review the European Green Deal, and touch on the 17 sustainability goals. Our objectives included: - Raising awareness of climate change and environmental challenges, and sustainable energy sources: by avoiding non-reusable equipment, utensils, choosing a more eco-friendly means of transport, calculating carbon footprint, etc. - Promoting healthy lifestyle: by canoeing, discussing and experiencing dietary trends (being vegan), supporting local businesses over supermarket, choosing seasonal produce - Promoting active citizenship, participation of youth: for example talking about Erasmus+, discovering the Youth Pass competences, or experiencing the "In the skin of a Member of the European Parliament" game, energizers by organisers and participants as well - Encouraging creativity and entrepreneurial skills: by using creative methods for workshops, up-cycling, creation of own compost station - Promoting cultural diversity, solidarity and tolerance: for example intercultural evenings, workshops about current situation/country about environmental protection, issues, etc. Furthermore our aim was not only to talk about these topics, but to put some ideas into practice, therefore we planned our stay around some key guidelines, and around showing example to the participants: for example collecting waste selectively, starting our common compost, reducing food waste, etc. Methodology-wise our goal was to use non-formal learning practices, such as group discussions, simulation games, energizers, and many more.
