Objectives

The project made it possible to provide continuous in-service training for colleagues working in the transport engineering training, thus they acquired up-to-date background knowledge necessary in their job. The mobility of our students contributed to reach the goals declared in the strategies of our school and achieved that 10 % of our graduating students have Europass-certified international vocational practices by the end of their training session, enhancing their carrier opportunities in Hungary or abroad. In our current project we have raised student mobility terms to 4 weeks, enabling them to study more comprehensive vocational modules. We have also differentiated the length of stay of the accompanying teachers in the students mobilities thus we succeeded in more effective involvement of human resources in the operative activities. Performing project tasks were carried out more widely on institutional level. Instructors of the external practical training places were involved in order to complete the evaluation tasks throughout the project. By implementing the project we expanded our partner network which is an important objective included in the strategy of our institute in line with getting to know further good practices of training and adapting good experiences. We also introduced some innovation in project management.

Background

Being the only secondary level vocational school in Hungary to train skilled aircraft engineering workers we lay great emphasis on our instructors’ permanent in-service training and also our aircraft maintenance (avionics and aircraft mechanics) students participation in practical training in a real working environment abroad. The other major branch of our training in transport engineering involves car mechanics, automotive electricians and the add-on specialty qualification called alternative drive technician. We also developed the skills and competences of our students in our logistics degree. Through the implementation of the project we aimed to provide our technicians with technological and vocational competence advantage by carrying out vocational training within our international partner network and importing good practices from them, thus contributing to a continuous, good quality vocational education and training. Another priority of the project was to improve the foreign language skills of the beneficiaries.
