Objectives

One of our key objectives is improving the knowledge and skills of our participants while experiencing what another country has to offer. Another very important goal is raising awareness within our student body of the importance of engaging in civic society. We encourage our students to get involved in activities promoting active citizenship, democratic life and civic responsibility. The Erasmus + Project affords our students such opportunities.

Background

Ó Fiaich Institute of Further Education (OFI) are of the strong belief that the Erasmus+ Project is an excellent vehicle from which we can promote ourselves and grow with integrity, promote social inclusion and embrace diversity. Our college is located in Dundalk, County Louth in the Republic of Ireland. Since 1990, OFI has been developing and growing to cater for the educational demands of the population of Dundalk and its environs. Ó Fiaich Institute of Further Education under the patronage of the Louth Meath Educational Training Board (LMETB), is committed to the vision and values of LMETB. We provide learners with access to education and supports that maximise their learning opportunities and help them to reach their potential. The Erasmus+ Project offers participants the opportunity to enhance their college experience by improving their knowledge and skills while participating in work experience relative to their vocational programme of study in another European country. It is for this reason, that the Senior Management team of ÓFiaich Institute decided to apply to the Erasmus+ Project.
