Objectives

The idea was in the first place to gain knowledge and find ways to deal with our own stress situation and rebuild our motivation. The reason for many of the participants was to acquire tools to use for themselves that also would be applicable in the work with the students and in the school community as a whole. We believed that in order to restart normal school life and cope with stressed students and general discomfort we as staff needed to start with ourselves. Because in order to continue growing ,being creative and innovative we needed to regain own stability, motivation and find tools to use in our professional and personal life in order to deal with stress. It was also very important to bring with us our new colleagues that started during the pandemic. Coming back with tools, recharged, we would be able to face a new school year with our students understanding the process that they were going through due to the Pandemic, being confident, able to support them, reach out to them and provide them with tools and suggestions for their learning process and for themselves as individuals.

Background

We wanted to gain knowledge and inspiration applicable in our online virtual e-learning and teaching environment, to strengthen communication and collaboration skills of the participants within the European context and establish contact with colleagues in Europe. A deeper main goal was to develop a framework for Erasmus courses for a Summer Academy. The impact would be to come up with how to add and implement the experiences of the participation into valuable learning and teaching content for others. Due to Covid our plans changed. We had experience with online learning and teaching but still Covid meant us working in a even more physical distance causing more stress and emotional instability than we thought. We were also running out of time regarding the time of the project and we had to use the summer of 2022. We opted for for a joined course for 14 participants in stress management and motivation. We had during the pandemic discovered that if we were to cope with our own stress and mental stability as well as dealing with the one of our students we needed some tools to work with. We also needed an opportunity to find our strength together and strengthen our connection as group. Only one other colleague joined another course related to his subject not being able to join us at the date we chose to go.
