Objectives

Our primary objective was to foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation among pre-school teachers in Reykjavik. We aimed to achieve this by providing them with international exposure and learning opportunities through structured courses, training events, and job shadowing activities. This initiative was intended to broaden their perspectives, enhance their teaching skills, and enable them to implement new and effective educational practices in their pre-school settings.

Background

We applied for this project to enhance the professional development of pre-school teachers in Reykjavik by exposing them to diverse educational systems, methodologies, and practices across Europe. The aim was to incorporate innovative teaching approaches into our local pre-schools, inspired by the Montessori and Reggio Emilia philosophies, outdoor education, and best practices from preschools in various European countries, to enrich the learning environments for our children.
