Background

According to the "Life Sciences" Report 2019, published by CeSBio (Center for Studies and Research on Health Biotechnologies), the biomedical technologies of health, given the high versatility and the potential for development that characterize them, are the next frontier of the economy based on knowledge and research. The Report also made a snapshot of the geographic distribution of biotech companies applied to health: those present in the regions affected by the ELITE project (Molise, Lazio and Campania) - despite being recognized as centers of excellence - are just 10.2% and highlight difficulties to find highly qualified and specialized personnel, possessing innovative technical knowledge and skills, communication skills (also linguistic in the sector), entrepreneurial spirit and autonomy, able to respond to their continuous need for innovation and technological development; these are key elements to increase their ability to attract investments, enhance R&D, and be more competitive on new European and international markets.
