Objectives

The “MEN_TECH 5.0” project was inspired by the needs expressed by the Campania region and in particular by its young graduates, which needed to be met by collaborative interventions that could meet the challenges of the transition towards high-tech processes and products. The consortium was to improve the interconnection capacities between the training and production chains, which, on the basis of the implementation of a learning mobility action, would foster a more conscious co-design action in other fields of intervention. Therefore, the project aimed at achieving the following specific objectives: 1. to promote the link between the IeFP sector and the Campania production sector; 2. to foster the employability of young people in Campania and to disseminate the skills required for employment within high-tech industries; 3. to experiment a work-based learning (WBL) methodology; 4. to support the acquisition of technical-professional and transversal knowledge, skills and competences in the relevant sector; 5. to promote transparency and recognition of acquired competences through the application of ECVET methodologies and tools.

Background

The “MEN_TECH 5.0 - transnational approaches for MEN & TECH integration towards industry 5.0” project, n. 2020-1-IT01-KA102-007912, was coordinated by FMTS Experience Srl, formerly Glocal Srl. The enhancement of transnational mobility was one of the aspects that the Consortium strengthened, propelling tools and methodologies aimed at reducing the “skills mismatch”, a phenomenon that affected the entire labour market in Europe and in Italy, a country where this mismatch concerned 26% of the more than 4,5 million employment contracts stipulated by the national production system (Excelsior Report 2018 by UNIONCAMERE to Anpal). It was more urgent than ever, therefore, to develop training paths capable of adapting to the needs of the production sector which, in the difficult transition towards high-tech processes and products, needed qualified human resources. The decision to implement long-term mobility was appropriate in view of the complexity of the learning outcomes related to the professional figures of: Technician for the design, implementation and maintenance of database management systems; Industrial automation technician; Time and manner analyst.
