Background

The GREEN THINKING project is promoted by the technical institute “A. Trentin ”in Lonigo, coordinator of a consortium of four other technical and professional institutes in the province of Vicenza. The territory in which they operate has been strongly weakened by industrial exploitation in the last 30 years, so as to cause pollution of the second largest aquifer in Europe. Over the years, the schools of the consortium have developed a close collaboration with local companies that are increasingly internationalized and sensitive to their environmental impact. The 2020 project was in continuity with the previous GREEN THINKING 2018 (awarded by EITA in 2022) in the mission of providing learning opportunities to train professionally adequate and aware figures of the extent of problems related to sustainability. Not only environmental but also social sustainability, given the strong presence of immigrants who work in the production sector. For this reason, experiences abroad of non-formal, professional and multicultural learning are considered important as they improve the employment opportunities of the participants, and the results have an impact, over time, on companies and on the territory.
