Objectives

Because the project was implemented in a situation of increasing restrictions, of remote learning, of heavy repercussions on economic activities and on the availability of companies for internships, the objectives had necessarily to be adjusted to the external circumstances. The following were pursued: - strengthening of communication skills in foreign languages -cultural knowledge, intercultural understanding, open-mindedness - the enhancement of key and soft skills. - the development and/or acquisition of technical-professional skills, including computer skills. Through the internship in a company, our educational institute aimed at exercising resourcefulness, pragmatism, resilience, determination to achieve goals, which can be considered as soft skills essential for both work and study as well as life itself.

Background

Having been accredited with the Erasmus Charter, ITE G. Piovene embarked upon the Palladio 2020 project which, as far as school internationalisation is concerned, represented the most important action of the year 2021, which was marked by difficulties caused by the pandemic. By carrying out a mobility period abroad, the actual core of the project, the educational institute has pursued its mission of helping to form open mindsets, willing to learn and get involved, inclined to an inclusive and multicultural vision of society. Also, through mobility, the institute has aimed at reinforcing the use of the four vehicular languages (English-French-German, Spanish). The internships, despite the limitations posed by the difficult pandemic situation, have represented an opportunity to develop or acquire new skills that can be applied in the local territory, characterised by a strong vocation for export, as well as in the world of work and in the continuation of studies. The project was also an opportunity for innovation for the institute, as staff mobility began a path of CLIL methodology training.
