The main aim is the improvement of the educational offer of Liceo Azuni, with a view to internationalization, inclusion and professionalization. The activities included in the project are directed to our staff and students, who have been involved in the dissemination of the results of their experiences. The internships abroad have a limited duration but their efficacy has been dependent on the fact that our school has always welcomed the improvement of the soft skills which are expected to be acquired and enhanced through them. Our institution has also been focused on the promotion of principles such as European citizenship, democratic life and peaceful coexistence. The implementation of the soft skills acquired in the theoretical scope included in the working context strengthens, in a permanent way, the sense of responsibility and self-efficacy of the interns involved. Lastly, the improvement of the procedures of formal recognition of the extracurricular training experiences in terms of credits and certifications useful for the job market has been a major target of the project.
Since 2003 Liceo Azuni has been engaged in the process of internationalization of its educational offer, which has been implemented with European mobility projects (Leonardo LLP – Erasmus +). The choice of VET key actions has allowed our students and staff to get access to formal and informal training of a practical kind (learning by doing), which is necessary to avoid the risks of Liceo Azuni’s mostly theoretical and specific curriculum. The insularity of our territory requires actions directed towards the improvement of European citizenship and the development of soft and hard skills useful for the professional future of young students, especially after the Covid Pandemic, which has increased social isolation and impacted negatively on the number of flights from and to Sardinia. The award of the VET Mobility Charter, which has been extended to 2027, is the assurance of the continuity and efficacy of the implementation of internships abroad, which have been (and will be) essential to enhance the educational path of our students, especially those who have special educational needs and those with fewer socio-economic opportunities.
