Palizzi has oriented its educational strategy towards internationalization and at the same time cooperation with local authorities and businesses, as envisaged in the PTOF and in the European Development Plan: the project is part of this strategy and has created opportunities for training capable of stimulating creativity and innovation, encouraging experimentation and the European vocation of the training offer, promoting diversified forms of learning such as work-based learning, the so-called Worked Based Learning -WBL or transnational learning mobility, the so-called EU mobility. The latter constitutes a privileged opportunity for training experience, as the previous project initiatives financed under the VET Charter have also had the opportunity to demonstrate. ITSET "Filippo PALIZZI" has always been attentive to the issues in question and in recent years has focused the programming of the Three-year Training Offer Plan on issues relating to didactic and technological innovation, entrepreneurship education, development sustainability, inclusion and internationalization of the school.
The 'Sustainable Development' project represented a natural evolution of a path that had already begun with the accreditation of the VET Card in 2018 and the project Cycletourism KA116 of 2019. The intent was to offer students and teachers the opportunity to participate in an innovative training course inspired by the 17 SDGs-Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda. The project had the intention of creating a link between the students' educational path and the organizations (companies, bodies) that have made environmental, economic and social sustainability their development philosophy, providing students with an opportunity for professional growth and awareness on these issues and teachers the opportunity to grasp all the possible implications in teaching and in the formulation of vertical curricula renewed in the light of Sustainable Development issues. The aim of the project was to offer an opportunity to "open minds", to increase the access possibilities of young students to an increasingly specialized and diversified labor market and at the same time to broaden skills in the management of mobility and sustainable staff development.
