Objectives

The objectives of the VET-EU project were: to foster social inclusion, the development of key and vocational skills thus increasing the level of employability of young people in IeFP training (EQF3 Qualification and EQF4 Vocational Diploma) and IFTS pathways (EQF4). This is by encouraging nonformal and informal learning in the various stages of the foreign experience in order to improve knowledge, skills in a personal, civic, social perspective. Participants became skilled enough to successfully obtain the Qualification, Diploma and Higher Certification and proceeding to other training paths and\or easily entering the labor market. Many of students involved, especially from IeFP, are immigrants in Italy with their families or second-generation immigrants who are often socially and economically disadvantaged, and for them the value of the project gained even more significance. In addition, teachers, tutors and coordinators of the different training paths were also involved and participated in study visits to companies and host organizations.

Background

The VET-EU project, designed with the achievement of the Mobility Charter, is part of the strategy of internationalization of the regional training system to achieve the benchmark-prescribed by ET2020-of 6 percent of trainees between 18 and 34 years of age in mobility, started by AECA with the support of the actors in the territory, the training world and the Emilia-Romagna Region. VET-EU involved young people from IeFP pathways to vocational diploma qualification and IFTS, and the staff of the reference training centers. The VET-EU project is the result of previous mobilities carried out by AECA, through the Erasmus+ program, which have contributed to the development of a regional infrastructure aimed at making mobility a rule in vocational training pathways. The projects coordinated to date have been distinguished by the high quality of the internships abroad and their positive impact on regional VET learners, most of whom come from backgrounds of social, educational, and/or economic fragility and would not have been able to independently undertake a training experience abroad like the one offered by the VET-EU project.
