Objectives

"C.A.T." was designed to be in line of continuity with the mission of the high school “A. Gatto" to play an active role in the Cilento area, in favor of the entire community. The principles of dissemination, exchange and sharing have always animated the school action, allowing it to achieve important levels of quality in their performance, precisely because it is nourished and enriched by the contribution of local authorities. Specifically, the path proposed by "C.A.T." provided for the creation of two training activities: a structured course in Ireland and a job shadowing experience in Finland, with the aim of: - improving the school training offer. - increasing staff skills, enriching their skills portfolio through lifelong training. - providing, through new didactic approaches, greater support, and stimuli for learners, aiming above all to strengthen their basic skills. - internationalizing the Institute by strengthening a project that is increasingly aimed at improving school performance, the curricula of the Institute and the potential of students in post-graduation.

Background

In light of what emerged in the Self Evaluation Report, the high-school "A. Gatto" promoted the project “C.A.T. – Competences Advanced Training” with the intention of making up for the shortcomings found regarding the advanced age of teachers (79.7% are over 45 years old); the low percentage of teachers with medium-high level language certifications; the lack of a teaching team in favor of their marked individuality. The project was created with the intention of intervening in these identified criticalities and improving the qualitative development of the Institute by enhancing the skills and abilities of the school staff, including the school principal and administrative assistants. Through the implementation of this project, in collaboration with the entities identified in the countries chosen for mobility in Ireland (Mobility Hub) and Finland (T.E.E.P ltd), it was possible to learn know-how on innovative teaching methods, digital skills, and the ability to collaborate between teachers.
