Objectives

The macro – objectives that “EUROPE GOAL” has aimed to achieve are: - promotion of cultural exchanges and partnership projects: the Institute has managed to enhance cooperation with European countries, started in previous years through further Erasmus+ projects, and now made necessary for new collaborations and partnerships aimed at increasing the skills of teachers and students. The Institute has in fact launched an accreditation in the VET no. 2020-1-IT01-KA120-VET-008869. - Strengthen the soft skills of the participants, such as team working, problem-solving, interpersonal skills, and adaptability. The Institute has strengthened and, above all, intends to put into practice activities such as laboratories, internships, and traineeships, which actively involve students. The teachers, therefore, have been prepared to organize and manage laboratory and training activities that are attractive to the students. Thus, the I.T.E.T. "AND. Fermi”, in the long run, will be able to equip itself with the means to curb failure and early school leaving. The Institute has also achieved a significant improvement in the planning skills of its staff in terms of management, operations and the development of trans-European networks.

Background

The I.T.E.T. "AND. Fermi” is located in Barcellona Pozzo di Gotto, the most populous Municipality of the Metropolitan City of Messina (Sicily). The school not only represents a training centre, but also a reception and aggregation center for young people who, very often, find themselves without a commitment and prey to local criminality which leads them to dispersion. The Institute, precisely for its important cultural role in the social context of Barcellona Pozzo di Gotto and its Sicilian hinterland, as well as its role of promoting and respecting criteria and principles of an effective and transparent organization, intended to give continuity to the European cooperation project undertaken in the past, in 2018, for students and teachers, both from a didactic-educational and administrative-management point of view. It is against this background that the implementation of "EUROPE GOAL: Growth Of Achievers in Learning" finds fertile ground, placing itself in line with the European Development Plan of the Institute.
