Objectives

There are three essential objectives that the Institute has set itself to achieve through the project: 1. RENEW EDUCATIONAL METHODOLOGIES AND LEARNING ENVIRONMENTS. Observing educational activities in schools other than ours could only be an excellent opportunity to reflect on our “schooling” and improving it, for example by enhancing the use of active methodologies and redesigning learning environments, in order to have an increasingly effective and inclusive teaching. 2. INCREASE ENGLISH LANGUAGE SKILLS. Since the English language certifications above level B1 among the staff of the I.C. they were not very widespread, it was thought that it was essential to increase the level of linguistic competence. 3. STRENGTHENING THE EUROPEAN DIMENSION AND INTERCULTURAL DIALOGUE. As pointed out in the previous paragraph, the pivotal objective of the entire project, is the opening up of I.C. to Europe, through the fruitful exchange of experience and good practices that a project like this brings with it.

Background

The I.C. of Pianello V.T. is characterized by a certain structural complexity, essentially due to the characteristics of the geographical area on which it rises: considerable distances between the 13 plexus and low population density (40 ab. per square kilometer) makes it necessary to build a strong common identity of an Institute. Precisely in this context, it is of fundamental importance, within the I.C., the growth of a European dimension capable of preventing that territorial isolation that would risk excluding the entire community from the opportunities that full membership of the European Union allows. The project therefore arises from the need, taken up by the RAV and the PDM, to start within the Institute a process of opening up to Europe that allows all school staff and, indirectly, pupils and the community, to develop linguistic, intercultural, methodological, educational and organizational skills, which are fundamental to become global citizens.
