With this project for the target groups of school heads, primary school English teachers, CLIL teachers and Second Language teachers (L2 Italian) we set ourselves the following objectives -> the FAMILIARISATION WITH PLURILINGUAL DIDACTICS and with plural approaches in general: for the heads as it enables them to understand the basic conditions to be created for the implementation of a multilingual curriculum on a managerial level (classes, classrooms, timetables, co-presences, etc.) and for all the teachers involved so that they recognise the added value of this didactics and the synergetic gain of joint planning. -> the UPDATING OF LANGUAGE TEACHING in general in order to keep up with the times and to take into account today's changes and needs in an increasingly complex linguistic and cultural framework. -> the DEVELOPMENT and deepening OF CLIL METHODOLOGY adopted by teachers as a strategy for enhancing pupils' language and multilingual knowledge.
The ProLinguaE consortium was formed to promote multilingualism, which is one of the main provincial objectives pursued in the area of German school education in the Autonomous Province of Bozen/Bolzano. The promotion of multilingualism is not a goal that can be achieved by restricting itself to language teaching. It is an issue that pervades the school in all its parts: from the structural organisation through to the curricula and content of the individual (not exclusively linguistic) subjects. The ProLinguaE project was therefore not only an important step in the training of teachers and headmasters to realise the multilingual school, but was also undertaken to raise the awareness of all those involved in the school sector.
