The new guidelines that IC4 had defined to implement the 4D model required specific training actions aimed at: - implement coaching and management skills to enhance and improve the level of interaction and collaboration in the classroom; - consolidate the ability to create and use design, planning and evaluation tools that allow permanent innovation and change; - encourage the practice of self-reflection and the use of self-evaluation tools; - use feedforward to overcome feedback techniques; - acquire knowledge on Outdoor Education to use the environment as a learning classroom, in an intercultural perspective and respectful of students with BES; - encourage collaboration from a vertical curriculum perspective, both STEAM and cross-curricular activities based on a consolidated, but innovative, theoretical and methodological reference. - develop skills on how to effectively integrate teaching strategies and digital technologies into the curriculum; - experiment resources and ideas to get to a creative, effective and quality teaching action to make students creators and not passive users of knowledge.
After the first E+ KA1 experience in 2014, IC4 had developed a strong identity based on common objectives, orienting itself towards an international vision and teaching-learning processes based on the acquisition of skills by students. The change imposed by the municipal administration from 6 to 5 school days in all schools entailed, as a conseguence, a profound rethinking of the planning and teaching approaches. The ever-increasing heterogeneity of the school population, the generational change of teachers and the arrival of a new manager, required new strategic priorities, for greater openness towards broad-based educational planning on a European scale and for retraining and updating of key competences for lifelong learning. The need to implement the skills of teachers and staff with specific training actions in order to build a motivated team was therefore fundamental to carry forward the educational-didactic mission of the institute based on the 4D project developed for a dynamic, digital, contemporary school dedicated to skills and dedicated to students.
