Within a logic of cooperation and in a European dimension, the Consortium focused on the problems common both to teaching and administrative staff. Particular attention was paid to the training of system figures in order to improve their "management and staff competences ” for the organization and the management of teaching/learning processes. The whole system was oriented towards "well-being" and its sustainability. These aimed to the project called "ACROSS Well-being: well-being at school, sustainable well-being" which can be explained with the first letters of the following sentences to form the acronym ACROSS: A nalyze the context and the needs C onnect and cooperate at a local and European level R each out to the communities O rganize relevant trainings and researches S upport sustainable practices for school well-being S hare and spread good practices The Consortium had therefore identified three central thematic areas through which to analyze the existing system in order to refine procedures and processes such as to improve, implement and/or systematize what was acquired in terms of skills and experiences by the beneficiaries of the mobilities: - The well-being of school staff - The well-being of pupils - The well-being of the educational institution
USR Toscana presented the application for this project because it wanted to identify the processes useful for achieving a better well-being within school communities, starting from a systemic vision based on the comparison of experiences and the study of strategies. Hence the creation of a Consortium of Schools - 4 different institutes including the provinces of Florence, Grosseto, Pistoia - all dealing with the complexity deriving from a very large school population, characterized by strong migratory phenomena in areas considered at risk, with a high percentage of disabled pupils and with special educational needs. On the other hand, the institutes spent attention towards teaching practices focused on innovation to improve their educational success and to guarantee the "well-being" of the various actors: teachers, students, staff and other school staff. The objective of the USR Tuscany was to disseminate the results of the project throughout the entire regional territory so that it could become a best practice, also useful to other educational institutions.
