Objectives

The project identified the following specific objectives: 1. Strengthen the ability of teachers to DESIGN FOR SKILLS AND IMPROVE THE PROCESSES OF PLANNING, DEVELOPMENT, VERIFICATION AND EVALUATION OF EDUCATIONAL-TRAINING COURSES, also with reference to the possible revision of methodologies and tools currently in use, making the teachers involved capable of use innovative teaching methodologies aimed at developing and evaluating skills; 2. Achieve the CONSOLIDATION OF THE VERTICAL CURRICULUM in coherence with the profile and identity of the three CIs by experimenting with new evaluation approaches in the network, also by building new international relations, which, through job-shadowing actions, promote tangible changes in the evaluation approach of the teachers; 3. FOSTER THE INTERNATIONALIZATION of the three institutes through opportunities for the exchange of school staff (including ATA personnel) with European realities, in terms of comparison, to counteract the risk of excessive self-referentiality and closure to difference with a view to a pedagogy of 'encounter.

Background

The title of the project, "ITACA: Innovative Teaching And Competence-based Assessment", immediately drew attention to the theme of the journey, which represented a path full of significant experiences and growth for the school staff. The project was an opportunity for networking for the consortium of the three institutes belonging to the same area (n.10 Brescia) and as an opportunity for international comparison on the topic of educational planning and assessment for skills in the first cycle. In fact, the teachers themselves recognized themselves as lacking from the point of view of specific skills in the field of evaluation, if practiced with a view to innovation, in line with recent ministerial indications.
