Objectives

Through the participation of a substantial number of teachers and administrative staff in the mobilities envisaged by this project, we intended to improve, in concrete and in daily teaching practice, methodologies with the clear aim of improving, consequently, the learning levels and basic skills of our pupils. The first objective was to improve the communication skills in English of the school staff, since this is necessary to achieve the second objective which was to share and capitalize on the good methodological and teaching practices observed abroad. In order to respond to the training needs of our students, after the very difficult emergency phase linked to the Covid 19 pandemic, we have also worked to improve the digital skills of teachers, through the specific in-depth study of DigCompEdu, to give all our students the tools necessary to best exercise one's citizenship rights, even in the digital world.

Background

As a School, we have decided to apply for this project, in order to strengthen ties and cooperation within the professional community, mainly improving the teachers' ability to work in teams, to plan together, to experiment and to share good practice. The basic objective of all the mobilities was not only to modify some teaching practices, but to initiate a difficult but necessary "change of mentality and paradigm" in the perception that the teachers and all the operators of the school (manager, administrative staff) have about themselves and their profession. We considered necessary to initiate the transition from the teacher who controls everything and simply transmits rigid and inert notions to the students, to a teacher who decentralizes himself and plays the role of facilitator and promoter of the learning processes. By observing good practices in partner schools, we aimed to promote the gradual but inevitable change of our professional community.
