Objectives

The European development plan of the Going International consortium has maintained the same vision as the original plan aimed at developing internationalization processes within the comprehensive schools involved (partners) by acquiring the skills to access and successfully manage European funds in the field of culture, of education and training. The Consortium's mission was to trigger a virtuous process to support schools in their European dimension. The primary objective has always been to raise the internationalization index and test it through a series of registered indicators. The internationalization index is a point of reference for first-cycle Bolognese schools not only as a self-evaluation tool but as an important consultation basis for framing internationalization actions. We therefore wanted to effectively strengthen the actions undertaken to: 1. understand the extent of the internationality of the schools before and after the project 2. investigate the activities undertaken by schools to make structures and programs more international 3. test the index based on the changes that occurred with the Erasmus 21-27 program and the Covid era.

Background

The coordination of the Consortium was born during the first application and needed to refine some procedures to allow itself to plan interventions suitable for the different partners realities that were added while respecting the characteristics of each school to internationalize. Analyzing what had happened so far, we can state that rigorous planning has meant that the project has had a solid implementation plan since its opening. In support of what has just been announced and maintaining the objective of offering the experience gained as a protocol for the new partner schools, the application has allowed the schools that have already participated in the previous application to become facilitators, implementing a sort of peer tutoring on the new partners and at the same time to assume the role of lead partners, allowing the consortium to implement a strategy for improving the quality of the internationalization of first cycle schools. The staff involved in the project has gained the coordination experience necessary for the management, monitoring and mentoring of the new partners, establishing a working group as lead partners for the action research of new strategies.
