The inclusion of dry stone art on the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage list has given new impetus to associations and organizations involved in this field. Therefore, the project aimed to implement the following objectives: Increase awareness of the European dimension of cultural heritage. Create a networking environment aimed at presenting a partnership project. Emphasize the role of adults in transmitting cultural heritage. Organize seminars, meetings, and study visits on dry stone techniques for small groups of artisans, educators, and students. On the autobiography in prison aspect, the intention was to verify and compare the system with associations and institutions that have been active in this field for years, collecting and observing the best practices.
The "Interferenze" association has identified two distinct training paths related to the prison experience and the enhancement of environmental heritage. The first group of volunteers has been operating within the correctional system of Southeastern Sicily for years, using autobiographical methodology to promote and encourage the reevaluation of one's past and the planning of a future "beyond bars." The comparison and experience with similar European associations would have allowed: - Creating a space to enable inmates to redefine their lives after the prison experience. - Encouraging and motivating young inmates to describe their personal experiences and communicate the challenges of life inside prisons. The other group of associates, focused on the enhancement of dry-stone walls, has contacted associations and entities dealing with the subject with the aim of: - Increasing awareness of the European dimension of cultural heritage. - Reinforcing the role of adults in transmitting cultural heritage, aiming to transfer knowledge and experiences about dry-stone construction techniques to young people and students.
