Objectives

The main objectives, in a period of enormous increase in membership of our association, are both aimed at improving the functioning of the association, made up exclusively of volunteers, and at improving the training programs on homosexual families that members organize for teachers, educators, social welfare staff and local administrators. As regards the first objective, which primarily concerns the functioning of the association, it is divided into various interconnected points: improve the management of internal conflicts; improve communication between the association's elected board of directors and the members, and between the members and the board; improve the techniques for communicating the campaigns identified as crucial for the association; improve the techniques with which to involve an increasing number of members in the activities of the association. As regards the second objective, which concerns training projects, a crucial activity for our association, mobility makes it possible to achieve various objectives: to allow members to experience an international environment and get in touch with other European realities; perfect the theoretical and methodological framework of our courses and gather new techniques.

Background

The Famiglie arcobaleno association is committed to making the reality of homosexual families known and fights at all levels so that equal rights are guaranteed to homosexual families and their children. The association is active in the fight against stereotypes and prejudices, against gender inequality, sexism and racism, against all types of discrimination based on place of origin, gender, sexual choice, skin color. Famiglie Arcobaleno applied to this project to strengthen the association's organisational capacities and improve the tools for promoting our principles at territorial and national levels. To improve communication with members and external sympathizers, to acquire techniques to involve more and more members actively in the association. To improve the quality of our training courses, which are fundamental for communicating with our children's teachers and making deconstructing stereotypes and prejudices against same-sex families. To build alliances with other European Associations and NGOS concerned with gender equality and homosexual families and to pursue transnational campaigns on the issues of the rights of same-sex families, against gender discrimination and racism, and against homophobia and transphobia.
