Objectives

The implementation of the project activities intends to achieve the following objectives: - acquire certification of the informal skills learned during participation in the various art workshops; - trigger learning processes, acquisition of basic skills and change through art and nature as privileged methodological tools; - guarantee an individualized approach adapted to the target of interest; - validate non-formal and informal learning to identify, document, assess and/or certify existing competencies in the basic skills area; - further enhance and consolidate the skills of the target group; - create a network, also international, to compare the results achieved and introduce new strategies for resolving the critical issues that emerge from poor schooling and the precarious situation of the labor market; - develop a place as the operational headquarters of multiple social organizations working on the theme of art, dance, social circus, outdoor education, slow tourism, organic social gardens and nature conservation.

Background

The Cooperativa Sociale Il Faro presented the “Art & Nature” project since, in addition to the management of welcoming communities, it also coordinates non-profit organizations at a site of extreme naturalistic interest with numerous work spaces dedicated to activities of artistic expression (ceramic, glass, tailoring, contemporary circus, contemporary dance, etc.). In fact, the activities just mentioned are carried out by the organizations that host the overall project, called La Fabbrica del Farò. Specifically, the Consortium is characterized by the following organizations: - AlphaZTL, dance and theatre; - Tenrock, circus arts; - Firss, dissemination of new methods of social intervention and innovative reception practices; - Artemide, training and job placement for disadvantaged people; - Effetto Serranova, educational activities in nature - Ethra, prevention and fight against gender-based violence. These organizations go mainly to the Brindisi district which is unfortunately characterized by indicators of educational and socio-economic poverty (high unemployment rate, low level of schooling, etc.), or in an area at risk of deviance and marginalization.
