Project summary

“A.R.G.O. - Art and cReativity to Grow up in cOoperation” project originates from the need to promote the creative learning through the use of storytelling and arts such as formative, innovative teaching tools for the development of transversal competences, for an inclusive and cooperative didactics. The use of written stories and arts (music, photography, drawing) allows to enable for young pupils a creative critical thinking through the narration and the sharing of legends, experiences, stories that concern the involved Countries in the project’s design such as Romania, Portugal, North Macedonia and Italy. The possibility to know these stories inserts itself in the lab activities of the ‘Golden Fleece’ (“Vello D’Oro”), an active and cooperative exchange place where creative brainstormings and cooperative storytellings do something for the development of both a mutual story developed in digital format (e-book) and a short final docufilm made up with participants’ amateur recordings and video-interviews. These activities, related to several artistic tools such as drawing, photography, music and digital painting, will carry out the pupils to compare themselves on mutual belongings, by identifying the counterpart into the stranger, to share roots and experiences by creating an active and productive debate focused on inclusion, tolerance, interculturalism and European Citizenship. The partnership among the Schools arises from the prominent presence, in each one, of students that come from economic and social disadvantges’ conditions that originates from the variables of different type. Because of this, they need close attention, as the origin background is resistant to education, in particular for the ethnic Roma students. Travel topics and ‘Golden Fleece’s (Vello d’Oro) research are the right metaphor to make the several partner schools more attractive to develop students’ motivation to participate in school activities by increasing civic, ethical and cultural competences in order to remove social barriers that oppress the expression of human potential. The specific purposes of “A.R.G.O.” project are: - to promote the inclusion of foreign students, in particular ethnic Roma Groups, through the implementation of literacy both in Italian and in English; - to spread an aware culture of legality and citizenship, through the openness and the exchange at European level for the best practices’ dissemination and sharing; - to develop social and civic competences, through the use of creative, artistic and IT tools that can increase the cooperation among peers, cultural tales/stories’ sharing and backgrounds. Educational creative activities will grant the realization of students’ purposes, in particular for relational, linguistic and value competences. To this purpose, the projects foresees that each School selects a group of 30 participants among the 5th classes of Primary Schools and 3rd classes of lower Secondary (11-14 years old) ones, that will be engaged in realizing in a concrete way the researchs about legends and stories of their own land by choosing a story to be shared with the other participants. Out of these 30, that will constantly remain in touch with an operational update througheTwinning and Project’s TwinSpace, for each partner school 6 participants will take part in the international activities’ exchange, by experimenting in an effective way the several activities of cooperation, development of the story and production of the shortfilm. The internal communication between the project’s teams will be constant and it will be concrete, through e-mails and messages, for a total of 10 meetings in video-conference in a timeframe of 24 months of activities that will allow to control the progress, the issues, the results, the logistics by granting the harmonious development of “A.R.G.O.” and the whole international cooperation. The diffusion and the dissemination will be granted by a series of events, by each partner school and coordinated by ‘Francesco Pentimalli’ Comprehensive School as Project’s Applicant/Coordinator, in the form of press conferences both at the beginning and the conclusion of the activities by granting a big audience to start a dialogue and a constructive debate on the benefits and the opportunities of the Erasmus+ Programme and to focus on a sensitive topic such as social inclusion, caring for the others, social contexts’ multiculturalism. Final report summary

"ARGON. - Art and cReativity to Grow up in cOoperation” n°2020-1-IT02-KA229-079155_1 was carried out in the period between 01 October 2020 and 30 September 2022 to identify, share and promote creative learning through the use of storytelling and the arts as innovative training and teaching tools for the development of transversal skills, for inclusive and cooperative teaching. The use of written history and the arts (music, photography, drawing) as a teaching methodology allows for the activation of creative critical thinking in young people through the narration and sharing of legends, experiences, stories which, in this way, have involved the traditions of Countries of the partnership: starting from the coordinator ISTITUTO COMPRENSIVO "FRANCESCO PENTIMALLI" of Gioia Tauro (RC); the “Scoala Gimnaziala Petru Rares” (Romania), the “Escola Básica N.º 1” (Portugal) and the “OOU Kuzman Josifovski Pitu” (North Macedonia). The project was born from a need common to all schools: the consistent presence of pupils who come from conditions of economic and social hardship who need more attention, having a background of origin resistant to schooling, in particular for pupils of Rom, for which the activities of the project "A.R.G.O." have aimed to fill basic cultural gaps such as linguistic improvement, the use of alternative communication methodologies (e.g. drawing, photography, music) allowing them to reflect on the meaning of citizenship, understood as a sense of belonging and identity that leads everyone to recognize themselves in the culture and values of the European Community. To this end, “A.R.G.O. - Art and cReativity to Grow up in cOoperation” involved the creation of an online activity and physical mobility, specifically: - 1 online meeting aimed at students and teachers of the 4 institutions involved, with the aim of publicizing the project itself, presentation of the logo; - 4 Learning Teaching and Training Activities (carried out in presence) had as a leitmotif a cooperative action of exchange of good practices, which flowed into a final output in e-book format containing the story shared by the participants built starting from stories, legends , cultural stories of the participating countries, activities carried out with laboratory methodology which saw the active role of the students, involved in the collection of anecdotes, shared within the "Vello D'Oro" laboratory, in the development of creative brainstorming and storytelling cooperatives, helping the written production with the insertion of graphic elements. These activities, carried out during transactional exchanges, want to bear witness to the organizational and harmonious climate, which is why the creation of a documentary film was born as an activating tool for good practices in contrast to school dropout. The docufilm was supposed to be the subject of a nomination for the "Gioia Tauro Film Festival", which however was suspended due to the persistence of the Covid19 pandemic. he first mobility took place in Portugal - Escola Básica Nº 1, held from 21/03/2022 to 25/03/2022; 2nd exchange in North Macedonia - OOU Kuzman Josifovski Pitu from 02/05/2022 to 07/05/2022; III exchange in Italy - the I.C. F. Pentimalli from 03/06/2022 to 06/06/2022; IV exchange in Romania - Scoala Gimnaziala Petru Rares, from 09/26/2022; The project has had a direct impact on the participants (teachers and students) and on the educational institutions. The teachers were confronted with education systems, inclusion and cultures. The long-term goal of the project is to combine traditional, content-based and standardized training with training that is capable of influence the growth of students by leading them to cooperation and inclusion, with the aim of forming the European citizen of tomorrow.
