Objectives

The youth exchange "Move into Leadership - Competences for Active Youth Participation" responded to the need of self and professional development of those actively involved in youth work, the need of new inputs that would help them deal with the challenges they are facing, such as developing new ideas and assuming a leading role in their communities. This youth exchange was developed in line with the following objectives: 1) To improve the level of key competencies of the directly involved participants as the beneficiaries of their activities. During the exchange, participants had the opportunity to develop a set of competencies needed for self and career development, linked to their professional profiles. This youth exchange was an opportunity for the participants to get to know new tools, methods and techniques that they can implement in their future work and activities. The goal was to increase empowerment and self-esteem among the young people involved in the activities, to support their active participation in the society and motivate them to take part in future non-formal based activities. By participating in youth exchange the participants especially: a) Strengthened and developed fundamental competencies (especially of teamwork, leadership, problem solving, conflict and project management, presentation skills) that they can apply at their daily work; b) Increased their intercultural awareness and communication skills needed to develop and implement projects in a multicultural environment; 2) To increase the ability to address and satisfy the needs of their target groups. The youth exchange provided participants an opportunity to strengthen their abilities to identify and address the needs of all involved in their activities and provide them with space for development of skills, that they can also apply in future (e.g. in job seeking process). Moreover, the participants had also the opportunity to explore the realities of their fellow participants countries, regarding the field of youth, and to learn from the challenges and good practices of others. 3) To increase the capacity of participants’ organizations to operate at EU/international level and apply innovative programs and activities that are in line with needs and interests of their target groups. Through the exchange participants strengthened their knowledge of Erasmus + Programme, European Solidarity Corps and moreover had the possibility to get to know new tools, techniques and methods that they can apply in their future work and make young people from their communities feel engaged.
