Objectives

From an analysis carried out by the 4 organisations involved with young people from their local context, it emerged that they have a strong interest for the environment, caused by the mouvement friday for future, but also a lack of sense of initiative, these young people have great ideas, but often they do not know the tools to put them into action, nor they know how to impulse initiatives or movements involving their peers. The project idea is focused on the development of processes of youth empowerment, in this way young people will be encouraged to implement local action on environmental topics, thanks to the development of their non-formal skills (with particular attention to the key competencies related to active citizenship) and thanks to the analysis of the opportunities the programmes Erasmus + and European solidarity corps offer. The project aims at developing with its young participants a common strategy to counter climate change, made of actions that they can replicate in their community of origin.
The project is willing to encourage young people to carry out this actions simultaneously, encouraging them to self-monitorate their action and to involve their community, multiplying the impact of the action. Specifically the project has the following objectives: More active participation in society and increased sense of initiative; Increase of emancipation and self-esteem; Acquired capacity of problem solving and conflict resolution; Acquired knowledge of bottom-up processes of activism in the field of environment Better knowledge of the environmental crisis (earth overshooting day, lack of resources, ecological footprint etc.) and how to counter it Acquired knowledges in the field of communication for advocacy activities Bettered competencies in foreign languages Increased cultural awareness Bettered knowledge of European programmes (Erasmus+ and ESC) and of the EU values
