This project came about as a follow-up to the "Can Be Fair" workshop implemented by EDB in June 2019, within that project we conducted a survey with about 600 respondents including parents of people with special educational needs and teachers. Of the data collected, we were struck by the strongly expressed desire and need on the part of both families and experts and children with special educational needs to be able to experience and live independently or nearly so. We offered experts and families the opportunity to co-create and develop an educational model that would make independent living the main element and combine the 'acquisition of core skills with the sedimentation of core disciplinary knowledge. The project therefore set out to and fully achieved the following objectives: - To share experiences and skills among young people with special educational needs, young people from difficult backgrounds and young college students that give each of them the opportunity to live an independent and safe life; - To share and experiment with educational tools capable of acquiring skills for independent living and knowledge typical of formal education; - Stimulate young people's sense of initiative for self-determination and overcoming Extra- Caring and ci co-dependency dynamics between youth and adult, especially in the family environment. - To offer young people a fresh perspective on independent living support activities to be implemented in relevant associations and schools; This project has set as its main objective the creation of an educational model centered on independent living, together with our other projects is creating the basis for a new and shared methodology among partners, which puts independent living at the center of the educational pathway, thus also managing to define points of contact with formal education and the disciplines recognized in it. - youth and practitioners (companions, parents, experts) actively participated in the planning, preparation, implementation and evaluation of the project (We are already planning together for October2023); At the conclusion of the project, we found that the most important thing was to give young people a chance to simulate and live independently, to give them a chance to learn together from each other, and to be able to find their own strategy for solving the problems of everyday life, this project met precisely all these needs clearly expressed by the young people and the target educational community. Strong bonds, loves and stable collaborations have been created between the realities and people involved, cementing bonds that now surpass working relationships.
