Objectives

Digital transformation has led to a radical change in the way people experience relationships and discover the world. Moreover, The COVID-19 pandemic of COVID-19 has made the Internet a vital necessity for working, studying, accessing basic services, and keeping in touch with peers, significantly accelerating its spread: from 2019 to 2021, the percentage of the world's population on the Internet increased from 54% to 63% (International Telecommunication Union, 2021), reaching 4.9 billion people in 2021 who recur to the World Wide Web to meet their needs and search for information. Out of these, more than 56 percent are young people (Statista, 2022). For youth workers and nonprofit entities, these numbers translate into a huge opportunity to extend the impact of their initiatives and intercept their target groups. The DEDAC-Designing Digital Advocacy Campaigns project was born in this context, with the aim of providing youth organizations and youth workers with the skills, knowledge and abilities needed to harness the potential of ICT and, in particular, structure digital advocacy campaigns to increase their opportunities to reach and empower young people. The project pursued the following specific objectives (SOs): SO1. Enhance youth workers' digital skills to increase their ability to bring about changes in their organizations and communities. SO2. Strengthen the capacity and potential of youth organizations to use online activism as a tool to empower youth. SO3. Improve the quality of youth organizations' work by ensuring that they can reach hard-to-reach youth. SO4. Provide youth workers with practical tools to harness the potential of ICT in youth work. SO5. Increase the international dimension of the organizations involved.
