Objectives

The idea of the project comes from the awareness of the urgent need for a change in the city's lifestyle in favour of a more sustainable model, both from an environmental and economic-social point of view. According to the latest EU surveys, cities have experienced an increase in population density in recent decades, requiring more energy to carry out urban activities. This is developing in an open metabolic context, causing serious environmental and health problems. Moreover, social differences within the same urban tissue are still an unresolved social policy problem. After a long analysis among the co-proponent associations, all these problems seem to be widespread in all three countries, so we feel the need to act by implementing an urban environmental education project, in order to give useful Know-How to the sustainable growth of cities, to offer useful tools to increase professional skills and raise safety and awareness to all participants. Another need common to the three partner associations that will be addressed is to promote the feeling of European citizenship. It appears that the pre-selected participants, having geographical and economic problems, have not developed the consciousness of being European citizens in themselves. Therefore, with this project we will try to arouse in them a sense of belonging to a large and welcoming community such as the EU, showing advantages and benefits.
