Racism is an ideology which, based on the postulate of the existence of human races, considers certain races to be intrinsically superior to others. This ideology can lead to an attitude of systematic hostility or sympathy towards a specific category of people. It concerns behaviors, words or practices that disadvantage certain people because of their color, culture or ethnic origin. Combating racism requires a strong political will, asserted at the highest level of government and by all local institutions. Cette question doit être largement débattue et expliquée dans toutes les sphères de la société, à l'école, au collège et dans les universités, dans le monde du sport et dans les entreprises, dans les associations, les milieux professionnels et les cellules familiales. Racism is a parasite that proliferates and feeds on times of crisis, generating violence and massacres. It is in times of difficulty that blindness, insanity and stupidity take precedence over human common sense. Today, our continent is plagued by this scourge, with the rise of the extreme right, identity crises, especially with the history of Gorges Floyd and nationalist and racist political parties. Today, racism is no longer a question of racial superiority, but of the anxiety we feel when faced with someone who is different from us and whom we cannot understand. Contempt and exclusion are the result of this anxiety, which turns into outright rejection. In all countries, all origins, all beliefs and cultures are affected. Each and every one of us is an actor and victim of racism, whether consciously or not. This project is therefore designed to sensitize and train youth workers on a delicate and highly sensitive issue, so that they can respond in a pedagogical way to young people on this issue, and be a resource for them in terms of information, awareness-raising and action. Responding to racism can be done in a variety of ways, helping people to understand racism, discrimination and how we move from prejudice to discrimination. Understanding that racism, like discrimination, is a punishable offence. Understand how to act when witnessing or being the victim of racist or discriminatory acts. It will also enable us to train and encourage the organization of working groups, and support those involved in setting up concrete, feasible and effective measures. Case studies, simulations and testimonies were on the menu during this training course for an exchange of best practices. During this project, our association AFRO-ITALIANA and the other partners set themselves the following objectives: - Awaken interest in human rights and racism issues. - Develop tools and skills for democratic participation, communication and cooperation. - Empower youth workers in the fight against racism. - Promote responsibility, justice and solidarity. - Develop a policy for dealing with racist incidents at school (or in a club or organization). - Set up a social network to enable the various players in activities confronted with such remarks to take action and implement measures to prevent or correct the effects threatening social cohesion, and thus contribute to the preservation of a racism-free civic space. The final objective of this training course was to develop a shared strategy for preventing and combating the expression of racism, in order to facilitate access to the law for victims, and to reduce racist expression and make it intolerable in society.
