When we looked at the future during we experienced the unavoidable increase of the human population, the two biggest problems that we encountered were : the possibility of insufficient fresh water reserves and food. The food waste we wanted to focus on in this project were substances that were produced for human consumption but not consumed or wasted. Approximately 1/3 of the foods produced in the world were throwed in garbage cans without consuming. The point we should have turned to was how to recycle these foods. According to the data of United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), 20% of legumes, meat and dairyproducts, 35% of fish and fish-derived products, and 45% of fruits and vegetables turned into food waste. Failure to avoid this waste led to environmental pollution and not recycling at the same time, causing a large current account deficit. According to FAO data, it had been determined that the financial value of food waste and losses in the world reached 950 billion dollars. According to the study of the European Statistical Institute, only 2% of these wastes were recycled in our country, while the targeted recycling rates in the USA were 40%, and in the European Union countries this rate is 60-70%. When we considered the European countries UK and the Sweden, which carried out the most effective works in this regard, stand out. Thanks to their win-win based policies and strict rules that encouraged their people to recycle, they had achieved acceptable success at the first level. However, when we considered other European countries, more countries needed to address this issue and encouraged their people about it. This issue, which played an important role for our future, was not adequately absorbed by European youth. This awareness should have been created in young people, who were the most active individuals of our future, and should have been encouraged to recycle in general, not just about food waste. Our general goal was to prevent food wastes and to increase the motivation and sensitivity of young people in making food wastes recyclable if they could not prevent them. Apart from this, in our special targets were. - Raising awareness of young people on reduction and recycling of food waste, creating awareness about waste management in young people and local people. - To inform the youth about the application of "Zero Waste." - To raise awareness about waste management in young people and local people - To teach participants how to recycle waste to art, table and nature.
