In recent years, interest has grown in the intervention of the new generations in the process of political decision-making, so they can express their demands and their vision of the world on fundamental issues for society and the future of our continent. Taking inspiration from this thought, our project has managed to create a space for debate and discussion on the issues of the participation of young people in democratic life and democracy and its values. In this context, we managed to carry out non-formal education activities that had the aim of: increase the level of awareness of young people on the importance of their participation in the life of their local and national community, support their presence in the mechanisms of representative democracy, promote freedom and respect for human rights, support the feeling of European citizenship and to foster intercultural dialogue, critical thinking and the use of new technologies in the field of non-formal education. These objectives were achieved during the course of the project by: -Promotion of EU history and values and democracy; -Creation of debates about young people and participation in democracy through the organization of a space for comparison, sharing and dialogue; -Construction of a space of sharing where young people, based on their daily lives, have been able to analyse and reflect on some fundamental issues related to participation and their commitment in civil society; -Identification of obstacles that prevent the participation in democratic life of certain groups of young people; -Carrying out activities that encourage forms of dialogue between public authorities and young people at local and national level; -A correct and complete information on some pillars of democracy (rule of law, three-way division of powers, freedom of speech, freedom of thought, freedom of the press); -Promotion of the integration of young people in participatory structures (associations, foundations, public bodies) through the narration of personal experiences; -Knowledge of the history and culture of the non-EU countries participating in the project (Lebanon, Albania); -Promotion of democratic values in non-EU countries; -Creation of networks between third countries and EU countries on the issues of democracy and Human Rights; -Comparison between young people from EU and third countries on the theme of participation in democracy by making known realities far from their daily lives; -Awareness of young people to respect diversity by teaching them to live together in a multicultural environment; -Inclusion in the project activities of young people who are socially and economically vulnerable and come from disadvantaged realities; -Creation of tools (such as the podcast of this project) that young people can use for sharing their experiences of participation in public life; -Correct information on how to search the web for news on issues related to the EU and its policies; -Creation of new relationships between organizations working in the youth field for the development of future projects. During the project the participants have created a podcast that will be used even after the end of mobility as a tool to tell different experiences of participation in the democratic life of young people from different countries. The work of creating this podcast gave the opportunity to participants from EU countries to learn about the political and social situation of third countries facing a path of change and democratization in which the contribution of young people is fundamental for its success. As far as the educational aspect is concerned, the project created new collaborations between organisations working in the youth sector, strengthening their capacities in the field of non-formal education.
