Main aim of the YE "HEAL" was to spread the message about mental wellbeing and simple non-formal tools to support it. We believe that all the good habits that are formed in youth make a difference for whole life personally and in community. So to make this society mentally healthier, first we need to take care of ourselves and then support the peers. Our aim was to bring together young people of diverse backgrounds and provide them tools for mental health for personal and community change. During the YE participants explored what is mental health and what tools can support it. They got to know how use personal tools, ecology tools and volunteering tools for their own wellbeing and how to inspire their peers to become more active and be happier. During the YE participants took part in outdoor and sports activities, field trips, discussions and simulations, team challenges. Moreover, they worked on digital campaigns addressing the topic of mental wellbeing and had an opportunity to increase their competencies to use digital skills to encourage other young people. Objectives of YE were: -provide the participants an opportunity to explore mental wellbeing practices in other countries; -encourage the participants to become ‘ambassadors of mental health’ in their communities and to activate their peers; -develop participant’s knowledge on tools for mental wellbeing (personal, earth based and community based); -strengthen participants team work and intercultural competencies by providing an opportunity to work in mix-intercultural environment during and gain new experiences and knowledge in intercultural field; -strengthen participants understanding of E+ and its possibilities through NFE based activities and to encourage young people to get activated and to take part in international mobility activities; -develop participant’s leadership skills by providing them an opportunity to prepare with support of their sending organisations and group leaders own sessions; -increase participant’s digital skills by giving them an opportunity to work on campaigns promoting mental wellbeing tools; -strengthen participants understanding of Erasmus + Programme and its possibilities through non-formal based activities and to encourage young people to get activated and to take part in international mobility activities. YE was in line with European policies and priorities and objectives of E+ Programme e.g. the White Paper on youth recognised the importance of health in empowering young people, fostering their social inclusion and developing their active citizenship. Many campaigns implemented at European level are directly tackling health and well-being of young people as part of EU Youth Strategy. In E+ Programme YE reflected following priorities of the year 2020: - enhancing media literacy and sense of initiative of young people: during the YE the participants worked on raising awareness about mental health among young people. The participants increased their knowledge of key elements of media campaign and increased their skills to create media content (to make booklet, make videos, post interview). -promoting diversity, intercultural dialogue: YE connected young people from several countries and included intercultural learning activities that provided the participants an opportunity to learn about the importance of intercultural dialogue or increased their abilities to work in intercultural environment; -reaching out to marginalised young people: YE included young people with fewer opportunities facing social and health challenges as well as coming from rural areas.
