Objectives

Quite obviously, bullying is a massive problem. The scale and intensity of bullying at schools are different in every country but it is definitely a common issue worldwide. The partner of “What the Bull” got together under this topic uncoincidentally. The project is the result of a long discussion and exchange of experience of how bullying manifests in each of our realities. However the entire consortium faces the underwhelming reality that bullying prevention is considered a “classic” or “traditional” problem that is no longer “in” . The school bullying prevention is formal, shallow and artificial. We feel that the youth, especially those who face bullying need to understand and deconstruct this phenomenon, become more aware and spread awareness after the project. Hence, we decided to take the opportunity and address the theme set out in the project and explore it with our young participants, learn from their experience and have an in-depth discussion on how to prevent, combat and recover from bullying in school, community, local environment and online. The goal of the project was to use means of informal education and deconstruct the process of bullying in various forms and let the participant, through experience and active discussion, understand how it manifests and use their creative potential in letting them find solutions on its prevention. The objectives of the project were: 1) Provide participants with context of bullying and its variety, explore the types of bullying and experience it through real-life examples and forum theatre; 2) Develop participants analytical, critical thinking, assertion competences, bullying resistance, discussion and debate skills, self-expression, oral-language skills and creativity; 3) To exploit their created bullying prevention-awareness content for project dissemination and valorization on the local, national and international levels. Contribution to E+ objectives were: 1) to promote participation in democratic life in Europe and the labour market, active citizenship, intercultural dialogue, social inclusion by addressing the issue of bullying and encouraging the youth to refuse the tolerance to this behaviour be ir in real life or the internet 2) to promote social inclusion, diversity, equality, gender balance and non-discrimination. The project addresses the objective directly by promoting a non-discriminatory behaviour among the youth and in society in general, we include 10 participants with fewer opportunities; 3) to promote stronger active participation of young people in civic life by fostering their social sensitivity, creating anti-bullying scenarios, developing anti-bullying campaign ideas during the project.
