The training course abroad allows the students to improve their competences, their professional qualifications and their linguistic abilities in an international environment, and to improve their degree of employability within the big European employment market. It also allows them to discover an intercultural awareness which improved their understanding of the similarities and the differences between various countries, to discover other cultures and to strengthen their European citizenship. About teachers mobilities: The Lycée Josy Barthel is the only school in Luxembourg offering studies in the field of civil enginerring. This is one reason why it is important for our school to have links and contacts to other european schools offering studies in the same field of education, in order to develop the exchange of informations and experiences on an international level. Working together with partnerschools in Germany an France make it possible to progress in our school development ans improves the quality of teaching at our school.
The project "European Internship in civil engineering ", is realized within the framework of the "Erasmus + ( KA1) " project, and is addressed to the 12th grade students of the technician's training in civil engineering at the Lycée Josy Barthel Mamer (LJBM). Halfway through their training, the participants can realize part of their compulsory internship in a company abroad (in an engineering consulting firm or architect-firm), notably in Germany or in France. Besides this, teachers (enineers/architects) make a short mobility during these internships to discuss with the interns, their company trainers and the contact person from the partner high school on the activities of the interns in order to finalize their evaluation. At the same time, they develop and intensify the collaboration with the partner school through meetings with school leaders and teachers .
