Objectives

The internships are designed to build personal and professional skills in the students that they will need for their future (professional) life. By providing them with an internship abroad, the school clearly improves the quality of their education at our school. As it is a primary goal of the school to provide each student with the best possible support, our offer to students to participate in an Erasmus project has become a matter of course here at the school. We need these projects in order to give our students, especially those from socio-economically weaker backgrounds, the best possible support. By participating in further education abroad or through contacts with teachers and trainers from abroad, our staff members also broaden their competences. And in the spirit of life-long learning and the hours of further training required by law, we are happy to be able to use further training in or through foreign countries to make our employees "fit" and to motivate them.

Background

Internships abroad should enable young people to broaden their skills and develop new ones through a longer stay abroad and work in a company, so that they can use them later, not only in school, but also in the professional field. As a Lycée Technique, we see it as our duty to support our students in the best possible way, as many of them enter professional life quite quickly after graduation and need to be made fit for a European labour market, which does not stop at the borders, especially in Luxembourg. But the students should also be made aware of the opportunities offered by a European labour market so that they can venture beyond the borders of their small country. Our contacts, some of which have existed for more than 20 years, enable us as a school to offer high-quality internships in the target country. This is a plus point for future students. In addition, the exchange at the level of the school management as well as the teachers allows for a qualitative further development of our school, as new ideas promote the reflection of our own practice and cause innovations in the most diverse areas.
