Objectives

The main idea of the exchange in general was to involve different youngsters(also youngsters in the social risk group) from different countries and towns. It was important to show them and the local community how to spend their free time in different ways: creating music, art, dancing street dances, performing improvisational theater, and making photographs. The aim of the project was to encourage young people from the big city and smaller towns to participate in activities that develop their inner talents and to promote take a part in social activities. The youth exchange was organized to know better everyone each of 5 activities – modern dance, music, photography, graffiti, and theater. Participants were divided into 5 groups and each group had every day one main activity and šecondary activity. In the main activity, the group made a final performance and every day worked and improved their skills in that. At the end of the exchange, they represented their result. On the secondary activity, groups developed other provided activities. In the youth exchange participated 28 young people and 4 group leaders from Latvija, Turkiye, Germany, and Slovakia. In these groups were young people with limited opportunities. The aims of the exchange were: • To teach young people to spend their free time purposefully and in a creative way. • To make intercultural dialogue between countries and to educate young people • To raise awareness of Youthpass and to give an opportunity to assess themselves and assess learning tasks with their mentors. • To develop young people’s talents and get new skills through 5 different exchange workshops. • To give participants the opportunity to create intercultural dialogue not only on intercultural evening but also organize at least 3 evenings of different activities to bring young people together. • To organize the final event which is related to informing people in Gulbene and Latvia about street and urban art. • To create a short film that represents youth exchange activities. • To implement innovations in young people’s daily life and to show professional ways how to spend their free time in urban life. We consider that the aims and tasks of the youth exchange were successfully implemented and achieved. Young people not only made intercultural dialogue but also got better at different arts and cultural types. Many participants told that in exchange for some of project activities they should do for the first time and they discovered ne talents. Most of the participants had a chance to draw graffiti for the first time. In the result was created a photo exhibition, graffiti large-format painting, theater performances, musical performances, and hip-hop dance.
