Objectives

As a long-term objective of this project we expect that the STEM subjects will be more attractive for the students and as a result greater number of students will be enrolling technical faculties which is necessary for our economy. In addition, students will be capable of following the latest industrial developments

Background

For some time the PISA testing has shown that our country is at the bottom of the list of countries regarding the ability of our students to use their reading, mathematics and science knowledge and skills to meet real-life challenges. Therefore European experience was necessary for us to learn new teaching technics and tools and introduce them in class. We also needed a cross-cultural exchange of experiences on the benefits of STEM Education and the ways in which it can be best applied. Moreover, we as educators need to keep up with the modern trends in teaching methodology, and STEM Education provides innovation through active learning methodology tools. Critical thinking has been identified as one of essential life skills that enables students to learn how to think rationally, clearly and most importantly – independently
