Background

The reason we applied was the need for improving the practical skills of the mental health professionals in diagnostics and treatment of children with special needs. We needed to strengthen their capacities, in order to be more efficient in providing services for the children. We also wanted and needed to continue to strive towards expanded internationalization and modernization of our organization and our skills, in order to serve more efficiently. This approach gave us the opportunity to collaborate in further projects with our peers abroad, improve the quality of our work and update our knowledge. It is very important to be able to provide services at the best quality possible since mental health professionals must be at the top of their knowledge and skills. Continuous education for the professionals is a must and very important for better final outcome of the children in need. If the developmental needs are resolved in proper manner, there will be less personal, family, health, economical and social burden. With this project, this group of mental health professionals improved their knowledge and skills and will be able to provide even more quality in their efforts to improve the developmental outcomes of children in need
