With this project, we wanted to contribute to professionalization and deepening of knowledge on different topics (e.g. language, class activities, subject specific knowledge) among our colleagues and to their ability to develop new working methods and class activities and implement them properly in lessons. In addition, the aim of this project was to gain support for moving along with the rapid developments taking place in the world today (e.g. the incorporation of IT in education) and to write corresponding lesson programmes that also fit in with the pupils' experiences to make them more engaging for them. Finally, individual learning and formative testing are of paramount importance at our school. With this project, we wanted to contribute to its further development and implementation in the school.
Our school has participated in multiple KA1 and KA2 projects before, which have always been a great succes and have been a valuable addition to the professional development of our colleagues and to the educational and personal development of our pupils. These previous positive experiences have been a great motivation for us to apply to this project. The application for this project was rooted in the desire and need for our organization to continue to be a school that offers high-quality education and uses innovative working methods and class activities. By being able to offer teachers good quality, diverse and challenging training opportunities, both our colleagues and pupils will benefit. Training opportunities abroad especially challenge colleagues to step out of their comfort zone and come into contact with different peers, with whom they are able to exchange experiences and knowledge and from whom they are able to learn. In addition, the (often) English courses contribute to the level of English of our colleagues, which is essential for us, as we are a school that offers bilingual education.
