Objectives

With this project we wanted to work on two mutually reinforcing educational goals. Firstly, we wanted to strengthen the professional competence in (activating) working methods, CLIL, formative action and reflection on the learning process among our employees. Secondly, we wanted to strengthen the language skills of the employees: we want both the language subject teachers and the tto teachers to excel in their language use. Both components contribute to enhanced didactics aimed at being able to communicate and daring to communicate, lessons with a high level of the target language and motivating working methods that include both the written and spoken word. This will contribute to motivating and activating students, as well as encouraging the use of the target language during lessons. Finally, we wanted to establish new contacts with partners abroad to realize our ambitions regarding continuing to offer foreign mobility.

Background

The KWC wants to ensure that our students dare to enter the world with confidence after their final exams so that they can be of valuable significance in an internationally functioning society. They are skilled in both written and spoken language, have self-confidence and well-developed self-insight. The KWC therefore pays explicit attention to internationalization, global citizenship and language education. We follow the "Global Citizen Skills" format of the Global Citizen School network. This project has been requested to further strengthen language education, with a shift in focus to lessons aimed at increasing communication skills in both the written and spoken word. The aim is to increase the independence and self-confidence of the students to be self-reliant abroad. Finally, we wanted to expand our network of foreign partners because we want to offer all our students multi-day international mobility during their school career and we need a broad network of partner schools for this. International training courses are excellent opportunities to work on your network.
