With this project, Scalda aimed to increase the number of outgoing mobilities and opportunities for students and staff. In the past, Scalda used to organise about 60-90 mobility per project. The aim of a mobility is to contribute to personal and professional development of students and staff, as well as to share knowledge with partnerorganisations. The policy objectives were set out in the Internationalisation Framework Memorandum, which was endorsed by Scalda's Broad Management Team (BMT) in September 2018. In the meantime, due to the extension project period, a new Framework Note on Internationalisation was adopted by BMT in October 2021. The aim of this policy is to qualitatively expand and safeguard internationalisation activities, to promote, support and (further) develop the mobility of individuals and groups, with an emphasis on activities in Europe and relevant countries worldwide. This aligns with both the training programmes and the developments in the professional fields and with special attention to Erasmus+ priorities. We have already taken these matters into the implementation of this project. NOTE: In the new policy, internationalisation is accessible to every student and is not just part of the excellence program.
Scalda's mission is to help students and staff reach their full potential. Scalda applied for the SEM 2020-2022 project to provide students and staff with opportunities to work on their personal and professional (subject-specific) development by acquiring and/or sharing knowledge abroad. The increasing emphasis on cross-border, regional and internationally-oriented (vocational) education is a logical consequence of the globalization of society and economy. Given Zeeland's proximity to Flanders, internationalisation is an obvious spearhead in Scalda's strategic policy. Developing the international competencies of our students and staff deserves more attention with more opportunities both in the Netherlands and abroad. The project was carried out in a decentralised way and involved the following educational clusters: cluster Maritime, ICT and Technology (MIT), cluster Services, Safety, Gastronomy, cluster Health and Social Care, Sports and Green (ZWSG). The names of these clusters have now been partly adjusted to : Services, Safety, Hospitality & Green (DVGG), Health, Social Care, & Beauty (ZWU) and CIOS (Sports).
