TDE#3 would be successful when: - 100+ learners and 25+ staff got a learning experience abroad, giving them more intercultural awareness and competencies, helping them to discover their talents; - The quality of educational activities is increased, with new insights of learners and staff; - Sustainable contact and collaboration with partners abroad has been established, helping us to optimally prepare our learners for the current and future labour market; - MBOU created opportunities for all learners, also for learners with a disadvantaged background, in order to appreciate differences, embrace diversity and contribute to equal opportunities for our learners; European citizens; - The project contributed to social inclusion, equal opportunities and professionalisation within the EU. The objectives above contribute to the 3 strategic goals of MBOU at the time of writing the TDE#3 project proposal in 2019, which will be elaborated further in chapter 4: 1. Improving the quality of educational activities; 2. Involving the outside world; 3. Appreciating differences.
MBO Utrecht (hereafter MBOU), applied for TDE#3 in order improve the quality of our education, involving the outside world, and appreciating differences by means of offering international mobilities to our staff and learners. For MBOU the development of talent is key in all activities, also in internationalisation activities. In order to stimulate this, MBOU needs to offer a dynamic and relevant environment in the classroom, work floor, and during (international) internships, among other activities. MBOU intends to enlarge employability in the current and future labour market for all learners. To effectuate this impact, we need to get inspired and learn beyond borders and explore the opportunities for our learners on the European labour market. We believe that international experiences provide learners (intercultural) knowledge, skills and competencies, which cannot be acquired otherwise. These experiences enlarge chances at the labour market and contribute to more secure, independent learners, equipped to be active European citizens. Staff mobilities contribute to deeper insights on teaching, pedagogy, curriculum, work field, intercultural and international issues, and how to approach these matters interacting with our learners.
