Increasing Diversity & Inclusion: Our objectives were to raise privilege-awareness among managers, assess our Diversity & Inclusion status, learn from best practices, and create a policy plan for implementation. Improving Access to Healthy Food: We aimed to analyze the needs of marginalized groups, collaborate with relevant organizations, and share tailored knowledge and tools to provide access to healthy and sustainable food for all. Overall, our project focused on increasing diversity, inclusion, and privilege-awareness within ProVeg Netherlands, while also working towards ensuring equitable access to nutritious food for marginalized communities.
We applied for this project because we strongly believe in the importance of diversity and inclusion. The focus of ProVeg Netherlands on increasing diversity and inclusion within our organization resonated with us. We were motivated to contribute to creating a fair and sustainable food system while improving access to healthy and sustainable food for marginalized groups. The opportunity to raise awareness among managers and staff members about privilege's impact and work towards implementing effective initiatives aligned with our values. We were eager to be part of a project that aimed to assess and enhance our diversity and inclusion status, develop policies, and collaborate with organizations abroad. By sharing our competences, knowledge, and skills, we aimed to support marginalized communities in accessing nutritious food and contribute to a more inclusive and equitable society and at the same time cherish the (neuro)diversity within our team. Overall, this project provided a meaningful platform for us to actively participate in fostering diversity, inclusion, and sustainable food practices within ProVeg Netherlands.
