The impact Gilde Opleidingen wants to achieve: "Students leave school internationally competent. Through internationalisation, we add value to our students' education, regardless of their education or level, preparing them for a society in which working, learning and living in different international contexts is a reality. The aim is that by 2024, Gilde Opleidingen will have an integrated approach to internationalisation, in terms of policy, process and educational execution. " This means that in the near future, EVERY student and teacher at Gilde will have to deal with internationalisation, regardless of the study programme, level or whether or not they choose an international work placement. From the start of the study programme, attention is paid to the international labour market and intercultural competencies and the opportunities for our students in this context. For instance: Focus on internationalisation during career orientation and citizenship lessons, internships abroad, language lessons, excursions abroad, guest lessons from the Euregio, job application training sessions focussing on the German and Belgian labour market, cultural workshops, etc. The focus of the activities within call 2020 was on strengthening current activities and on further developing innovations in the areas of the main 5 objectives as described before. Beside that within Call 2020 3 objectives have been identified. 1. Internships of employees as part of internal training policy (to encourage employees to gain knowledge and experience across borders, Gilde Opleidingen started at the end of 2019 an exploration of including internships for employees in the internal training policy), 2. Social Inclusion (Gilde Opleidingen wants to offer EVERY student the opportunity to enjoy an experience across borders. It has set up several crossborder projects with partners in the Euroregion to provide an experience across the border, among those also 2 projects for the target group of Level 1 and 2 students.), 3. Learning and testing optional subjects (‘keuzevakken’) combined with a E+mobility.
Erasmus+ is an integral part of the internationalisation strategy of Gilde Opleidingen. It makes a substantial contribution to the international experiences of students and staff, the acquisition of knowledge in an international context and the development of international competencies, and thus to the internationalisation objectives of Gilde Opleidingen. The main objective of course is that students leave Gilde Opleidingen after graduating internationally competent. The objectives of Gilde Opleidingen for the period of Call 2020 and further: Gilde Opleidingen ... 1. offers students and staff the opportunity for personal and professional development during study and work with an internship abroad. 2. offers programmes in which subject-specific lessons have an international dimension. 3. offers study programmes that pay attention to language and culture. Language education is an integral part of the study programme and is not just seen as a separate (optional) subject. 4. makes an international experience visible to students, staff and the partners with whom Gilde Opleidingen works. 5. has a central internationalisation information point, with access for everyone to the internationalisation information relevant to them.
