NP-2016-2020 Strategic goals for internationalisation are to develop international competences of students/staff by: 1. Sustainable cooperation with international partners 2. Internationally competent staff + clear overall streamlining and preparation/completion in a quality cycle The Erasmus+ programme equips participants with a toolbox of experience, self-awareness, skills and competences. We try to embed internationalisation better and stronger in regular education. We continue to build on a structured approach from application to implementation. NP is currently hard at work developing World Citizenship so that opportunities and learning objectives are clear for every student and staff member. Internationalisation for levels 1 and 2 as a target group is also an important factor because international activities and travel are not only reserved for levels 3 and 4, as was traditionally sometimes the case. Embedding and ownership of international projects requires the involvement of managers/teachers - which is why we have had a large number of staff members go to different places in Europe with great success to work on sustainable relationships, among other things.
Based on Noorderpoort's international strategy, NP realised 237 mobilities for students, accompanying teachers and staff membersl. The international department made every effort to make full use of the grant despite the constraints and uncertainties posed by the pandemic. A number of mobilities were cancelled and could be categorised as force majeure - procedures were followed through consultation and agreement with the NA. The rest were completed as largely presented in the application, although some were of course modified, due to the project period of 3 years, which is a long time. Students, managers and teachers from a total of 21 different courses used ERASMUS. We applied for this grant partly from the World Citizenship idea, which is a strategic focus area at Noorderpoort - both with regard to teachers, managers and, of course, students. There is a focus on short study trips for students with well-defined (study) objectives. This strategy also supports our ambitions in NP Strategic Plan 2016- 2020 as well as in Strategic Plan SK35.
