With Connecting the Dots, we show participants that they can do something for the future and how. We activate youth workers who in turn activate young people to work with them on a peaceful and sustainable culture. We will do this by training youth workers in nonviolence on three levels: personal, interpersonal and social. This means 1. developing emotional resilience through self-awareness and self-compassion, 2. dealing constructively with conflicts and respectful dialogue and 3. actions for a peaceful and sustainable society. Through non-formal learning methods the participants will gain knowledge and skills that they can use in youth work. In this way the training will also improve youth work in Europe, where the partner organizations are located. Moreover, it fits within Erasmus+ because the values of tolerance, inclusion, human rights, freedom, participation and responsibility are all part of the training curriculum. The aim of our training is to provide knowledge, skills and an overarching framework for youth workers to activate and empower youth to contribute to a sustainable peaceful culture. The objectives of this training are to enable youth workers to: 1. to empower* youth and strengthen their own emotional resilience and that of youth 2. prevent violence, resolve and transform conflicts and guide young people in respecting diversity and cooperation 3. organize strategically with youth groups for peaceful social change 4. exchange knowledge and support each other so that they can improve their work in the short and longer term, continue to develop and make an ever greater impact. *By empowering we mean: giving someone confidence in their own abilities to achieve something and to be able to influence their own life and environment, and the will to do this.
