Once uPon a time in TuniSia :) YE took place in the frame of the Erasmus Plus Programme which aimed to bolster cultural exchange between the countries: Tunisia, The Netherlands, Armenia and Finland. Youngsters from rural, suburban areas of these countries-were involved into the project. The project took place in Hammamet from 02.11-13.11.2021(including travel dates). Originally it was supposed to take place in from 10.05.2020 to 21.05.2020, but due to Pandemic, our project dates were changed. We found out the issue of the culture which is on the edge of being forgotten. With this project we wanted to raise awareness of the issue of cultural preservation and social integration. We do believe that life is about happiness and social interaction with other cultures, helping us grow our capacity to learn new languages, getting to know new cultures, developing our outlook, making us open minded, creating different opportunities while enhancing the personal journeys of all those engaged in this cultural exchange process. Cultural heritage is all about mixture of customs, traditions, moral values, attitudes, festivals, folklore, beliefs and ideals not only to make us who we are but binds us to pass it on from one generation to another. So through this project we wanted to get our communities to know about the cultural heritage of different countries, learn, love and pass it to the next generation preserving the history. Cultural exchanges have a significant role in bringing people from every religious, economic and social background together, so through this project we wanted to combine both preservation of cultural heritage and work on social integration of people and in particular youngsters and artistic groups within the creative sector who usually get less attention via the media and other networks in their local communities and to develop active citizenship among all groups of people, especially the creative sector. This YE was focused on fostering development of basic and traversal skills, such as soft skills and multilingualism using innovative methods and two universal languages: Folk Music and Traditional Dance as tools of social inclusion. The overall aim of the project was to make participants aware of their culture and ancient roots through discovering similarities and sharing common problems and opportunities as well as human heritage Project objectives were: - to empower youth using dance and music as tools of social inclusion; - to enhance active citizenship, both on community and on international level; - to promote volunteering, international opportunities and European cooperation; - to develop skills and attitudes of pro-activeness and critical thinking. -to promote the culture that is being forgotten -to raise cultural awareness among the participants. Once uPon a time in TuniSia :) ended with a celebratory open air workshops in different locations. One of the flash mob events were recorded and shared on social media (Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, Instagram), partner organization webpages, sent to participants and partner networks. The project objectives were in perfect harmony with the No Hate.
