In our European society we are seeing an increase of pressure on our lives starting from an ever younger age. We have to deal with all types of external pressures such as; family, friends, school, media, internet, government and social & sport clubs. As children we were always asked what we would like to become when becoming adults. Basically, the question was referred to our pure honesty regarding the profession and life we dreamed off back then as a child. Of course times change, but how many people actually still do what they dream of in work and in life? A satisfying job is very important to someone's happiness and well-being. Next to external pressures, internal pressures also affects people’s personal situation and their mental health and wellbeing. In our adult lives we are mostly drawn into a web of responsibilities. We realize that all pressures we put upon ourselves, make people do totally different things in life. What do we still do in our lives that we are passionate about and really love to do in order to become happier? Stress, depressions and burnouts are all around us, seriously affecting our health, loved ones and increasing health costs as a result. This has consequences for everybody in the society including the effect on future generations of children, youth and youth workers. The challenge is to balance everything we have to do with everything we want to do in life. In the EU, we are having growing numbers of all types of immigrants from all over the world that were forced to flee their own country or searching for a better life. This group often has even bigger challenges then EU citizens to achieve job and life satisfaction in the EU. Integration, multiculturalism and inclusion have become more important topics then ever before. Therefore we want to specifically focus on youth workers working with any type of immigrant youth. Youth workers are often crucial role models for immigrants when they are striving towards employment satisfaction and a happy life in Europe. The goal, objectives and the more detailed learning outcomes of this Training Course (TC) were based on the identified needs of the participating partnering organizations and their youth workers. Goal of the project: Youth workers are capable of improving the employment opportunities and life satisfaction of immigrant youth, through delivering own experiential learning sessions, and acting as multipliers in their communities within the project duration. Objectives: equip youth workers with the following competences that will be transferred onto immigrant youth; 1. Learning and dealing with personal external and internal pressures as part of understanding inner self 2. Building self-confidence (emotionally and socially) through activities that are out of the comfort zone 3. Matching self development with love; identifying the steps to social entrepreneurship (balance Have to do's with Love to do's in life) 4. Entrepreneurial skills and characteristics that are necessary to create a change in behavior 5. Participants will create and deliver their own sessions (based on real life immigrant situations) for a Dutch immigrant youth group 6. Participants will disseminate the results of the E+ project during and after the TC 7. Improve level of business English and learn other values, beliefs and cultural habits This TC focused directly on the E+ objective; fighting high unemployment levels particularly among young people within Europe. It relates to KA1 because youth workers and immigrant youth are trained to integrate in EU society becoming active citizens through enhancing multilingualism, equality, employment and life skills. We shared experiences, non formal education approaches and skills between all people that contributed to achieve the goals of the TC and aim to create future E+ partnerships.
